I feel like a little bit of an asshole because of this picture. My reaction was basically, “OMG look at the old lady and the adorable EWW MUSTACHE.”

The Daily Show makes light of political frustrations… well… daily. Stephen Colbert has a character he calls “Ching Chong Ding Dong.” Dave Chapelle does a character that is a crackhead. Chris Rock has a famous routine about the n-word. George Lopez makes jokes about Mexican workers fixing his roof and using his pool. Don Rickles has made fun of every race and religion since the late 1800s. And Louis CK is almost bulletproof when talking about the taboo.
Making light of political frustrations is LITERALLY what comedians are supposed to do.
These are people—black, white, Jewish, Catholic, Hispanic—who consistently and humorously talk about racial politics, social issues, and numerous other controversial things. They mock. They scorn. They use stereotypical accents. They generalize. They abandon political correctness and yet they make people laugh. And for the most part, people seem to think they are tolerant individuals. This is because the content of their character lets us know that they are upstanding people who support and care for everyone who face those daily battles you speak of. If you knew me at all, you would see that I care deeply about these issues as well.
We disagree on what is insensitive in this case. The now famous dog picture. But the parodies did not end with that dog picture. The meme blew up with 50 variations and every major viral site posted them. Perhaps I can get you a complete list of sites so you can write them anonymously and let them know how insensitive they are. Don’t worry about the fact that some of those sites are run by or have staff that are minorities. I’m sure your white privilege argument should still hold up.
My white privilege is apparent if I were to try to get a job, a loan, or if I had to deal with the criminal justice system. I fully acknowledge that the statistics are in my favor in those circumstances. And I fully acknowledge that is some unfair bullshit. But can you be so certain that is the case here? Did my white privilege really come into play because I laughed at a dog?
People used the format of the original poster campaign to create harmless jokes. Are you really offended by a Dalek being angry about a Halloween costume? Because if you are, then you’ll need to track down whoever made it and give them this lecture too. I mean, this is clearly super important and you must do your due diligence to put this issue to rest.
Ann Coulter just said this about Herman Cain… “They can’t stand that a black man, much blacker than Obama, and a real American black, is this right-winger.”
Rush Limbaugh said… “Look, let me put it to you this way: the NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons. There, I said it.”
These are the people we need to be speaking out against. Actual racists. Stop demonizing people who, despite of a few minor disagreements, are on the same damn side.
The slowest way to progress is to fight amongst ourselves.

Some people are under the impression that since I am good at photoshop, I am a good artist. I hope this clears up that misconception.

“Harold, someone is taking a picture of us.”
“What’s that, dear?”
“Some guy with a giant camera is taking a picture. I haven’t washed my fur yet today. I look hideous!”
“That’s nice dear.”
“You’re not even listening to me! If this ends up on the internet I’m gonna be pissed. Stop eating that piece of grass, get off your fat butt, and do something for once!”
“Mmmmmm… grass.”
“Ugh. My mother warned me you were useless.”
Sorry if it offended you. But i never really meant it to be funny. It’s symbolism. A form of…
Take a Picture
